Stories About the Meriter Birthing Center, Newborn Intensive Care Unit and Perinatal Clinic

The Birth of My Daughter Was A Miracle

I had my son at a different hospital and my experience didn't go so well. I had so many complications with labor. After 16 hours of labor, I had to have a c-section. I had to be put to sleep for the c-section. I went home two weeks after my son was born. I couldn’t breathe real well, so I went to the hospital and found out I had cardiomyopathy. The doctors told me that I had very little chance of living. I was in the ICU for a week, and I couldn't even hold my newborn son. That was very hard for me. The doctors recommended that I shouldn’t have more children.

Well, two years later I was pregnant again! I went to the Perinatal Clinic in Meriter, because the doctors deal with high-risk pregnancies. I felt scared, but Meriter made me calm and happy. Meriter took good care of me and watched my daughter and me closely.

At Meriter, I was wide-awake for the c-section with my daughter. My husband and the nurse were by my side and so wonderful. I was nervous because of what happen with my son, but the nurse made me calm. I just have to thank Meriter and their staff for their services and help. The birth of my daughter was a miracle and a blessing, and it was because of believing in God and to Meriter. I am on my third pregnancy and I am going to Meriter again.

Thank you!
