CPR, AED & First Aid Training
Meriter offers American Heart Association courses for the community taught by
our staff of certified American Heart Association instructors. To learn more

In addition to the community classes available at Meriter Hospital, the Meriter
Wellness Center can also bring the following classes to you! We can bring these
classes to your worksite as part of your employee safety and wellness programs.

Heartsaver CPR & AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Who Should Attend This Class: Anyone who wants to learn CPR skills for all age
victims, as well as those who may have a duty to respond to cardiac emergencies
in the workplace or community such as corporate and retail employees, police,
security personnel, chiropractors, dental hygienists, fitness staff, daycare
providers or family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death.
Skills Taught: This 4-hour course teaches CPR for adult, child, and infant
victims; AED use in adults and children; and relief of choking in all ages.
You Learn to Help: Infants (0-12 months old), Children (1-8 years old), and
Adults (8+ years).
Cost: Includes a protective barrier device kit and student workbook with CD.
Class held at Meriter, $48 per person. Class held at your workplace, $53 per
person.
Course Credential Card Received: Yes, valid for 2 years.
Heartsaver Adult First Aid
Who Should Attend This Class: Anyone who wants to learn basic first aid. This
course complies with OSHA regulations for those with a duty to respond to
emergencies in the workplace or community, such as corporate employees, security
personnel and lifeguards. This course is appropriate for anyone in the community
who wants to learn basic first aid skills.
Please Note: Child care workers, teachers, camp counselors, coaches, etc. should
enroll in Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR & AED.
Skills Taught: In this 4-hour class, students will learn to effectively manage
common illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help
arrives. Course content includes general first aid principles plus medical,
injury, and environmental emergencies in the workplace or community.
You Learn to Help: Adults (8+ years).
Cost: Includes student workbook with CD and quick reference guide. Class held at
Meriter, $48 per person. Class held at your workplace, $53 per person.
Course Credential Card Received: Yes, valid for 2 years.
Heartsaver First Aid with CPR & AED
Overview:
This class integrates First Aid with CPR & AED training in one 6-hour class.
Cost: Class held at Meriter, $56 per person. Class held at your workplace, $62
per person.
 Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR & AED
Who Should Attend This Class: People who care for children, especially child
care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organization or youth sports workers.
Skills Taught: This 8-hour class is designed to meet regulations for day care
centers in all 50 states. This course teaches how to manage illness and injuries
in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Topics
include first aid basics; medical, injury, and environmental emergencies; CPR
for adults, children, and infants; AED use in adults and children.
You Learn to Help: Infants (0-12 months old) and Children (1-8 years old).
Cost: Includes a protective barrier device kit and student workbook. Class held
at Meriter, $65 per person. Class held at your workplace, $72 per person.
Course Credential Card Received: Yes, valid for 2 years.
