Meriter Hospital's 23-bed Rehabilitation Unit provides a unique, comprehensive
approach to care. Intensive therapy and 24-hour rehabilitative nursing care are
offered under the direction of a Rehabilitation Medicine Physician
(physiatrist).
Care is provided using a team approach that includes staff from nursing and
psychology as well as physical, occupational and speech therapies when
appropriate. Families are encouraged to be involved in the patient's care.
Our staff focuses on helping each patient develop the skills needed to return to
their home and previous way of life. The most commonly treated diagnoses are
strokes, spinal cord injuries, head injuries and other neurological disorders.
Our staff treats patients 16 years of age and older.
