Cancer Treatment

In late 2008, Meriter opened a state-of-the-art
Oncology Unit. This new
unit features 15 private rooms, an outpatient treatment area, additional space
for family and friends and an air-handling system designed specifically for
patients with sensitive immune systems.
Your gift to Cancer Treatment will provide a safe environment for
patients who are vulnerable to infections that otherwise healthy individuals can
typically overcome. During the course of treatment, a number of these patients
require hospitalization to help them fight an infection, treat pain or manage an
aggressive course of chemotherapy.
On a typical day, as many as 16 inpatient and day treatment patients receive
care at Meriter.
