| The 2009 Meriter Pro/Am Golf Classic
presented by The Alexander Company will go on record as one of Meriter
Hospital’s most successful golf outings. With the generous support of
corporate and team sponsors, Meriter raised more than $102,000 for a new
Orthopedic & Spine Unit. Twenty-six teams competed in this year’s Pro/Am tournament on Wednesday, June 10, at University Ridge Golf Course. The top three prizes were awarded to: First Place The team of Gerry Cayo Ron Luskin Nancy Pautsch Peter Strombom Second Place The QTI Group/Oakbrook Corporation team Third Place First Business Bank team Former UW football great and Director of Athletics Emeritus, Pat Richter, introduced Dr. John Rogerson, the Pro/Am’s Honorary Chairman and a well-known Madison orthopedic surgeon. Remarks were also made by Jeff Tubbs, Pro/Am Committee Chairman and Vice President- Business Development, J.H. Findorff & Son; James L. Woodward, President & CEO, Meriter Health Services; and Larry Mann, a grateful orthopedic surgery patient. Meriter's new Orthopedic & Spine Unit will focus on providing patient-centered care with the emphasis on rehabilitation and individualized care plans. This project will be a key part of Meriter's new Orthopedic & Spine Center of Excellence, establishing Meriter as one of the leading orthopedic and spine centers in the country. |
